The GSMA has announced its newly elected Board members, with Yoshiaki Maeda, President and CEO of NTT DOCOMO, elected as a GSMA Board member.
The GSMA Board brings together senior executives from mobile operators around the world and plays an important role in setting the strategic direction of the GSMA and ensuring that its activities reflect the priorities of the global mobile industry.
For NTT DOCOMO, representation on the GSMA Board provides an important opportunity to contribute its experience and perspectives to this global industry dialogue.
The timing is particularly relevant as the mobile industry looks towards the 6G era. The transition to the next generation will require not only technological innovation, but also close collaboration among operators and the broader ecosystem in areas such as standards, spectrum, new services, AI, sustainability, and the evolution of network capabilities.
NTT DOCOMO has been actively involved in the evolution of mobile communications across multiple generations, combining research and development, standardization activities, and experience from commercial network deployment. Participation in the GSMA Board provides another important channel through which this experience can contribute to broader industry discussions and collaboration.
DOCOMO Euro-Labs is also actively engaged in GSMA activities, contributing to industry discussions and collaboration in areas relevant to the evolution of mobile networks and 6G. We welcome this development and look forward to further strengthening our contributions to the industry through our deeper engagement with the GSMA and the wider mobile ecosystem.
Congratulations to Maeda-san on his election, as well as to all newly elected GSMA Board members.
As the industry moves towards 6G, continued cooperation across regions, operators, and the wider ecosystem will be essential in shaping globally relevant and deployable future mobile technologies.
