Dr. Joan Triay, Deputy Director at DOCOMO Euro-Labs, participated to the “Cloud-Native Telco” and “Next-Gen Digital Infra” summits organized on-line by TelecomTV.
TelecomTV’s events on cloud-native have become the “place to watch and learn” about the most critical and impactful advancements that the industry is experiencing in softwarizing telecom networks. Panelists from vendor and operator communities provide their insights and share their knowledge about the -by now- unstoppable digital transformation of telecom networks.
Dr. Joan Triay, Deputy Director at DOCOMO Euro-Labs, had the pleasure of participating in two recent events related to network softwarization organized by TelecomTV. The first was at the “Cloud-Native Telco” summit, held from 16th to 17th of September. Joan participated in the online and live panels together with other renowned experts. In this year’s summit, main topics of discussion centered on how network operators and other stakeholders plan and migrate telecom networks towards the introduction of more cloud-native principles. Joan provided insights into NTT DOCOMO’s experiences on the cloudification and virtualization of the mobile network, including the recent vRAN deployment. The recording of the panel and live Q&A discussion are available at the following links https://www.telecomtv.com/content/cloud-native-telco-summit/roadmaps-for-cloud-native-transformation-53810/ and https://www.telecomtv.com/content/cloud-native-telco-summit/cloud-native-telco-summit-2025-day-one-live-q-a-replay-53831/, respectively.
The second of the events was the most recent participation at the “Next-Gen Digital Infra” summit which run on the 11th and 12th of November. The focus of the summit was on new cloud infrastructures, private clouds and data lakes. Despite the momentum of migrating telecom workloads into Public Cloud, it is a fact that many telecom operators chose to run their workloads on private premises. As NTT DOCOMO has fully virtualized its core network and it is expanding the virtualization and cloudification into the RAN domain, Joan shared also his insights on the importance of which telecom network workloads and operational principles can help network operators in succeeding operating telecom workloads on private premises. Again, this time, an online panel discussion and live Q&A took place; the online panel discussion is available at the following link: https://www.telecomtv.com/content/next-gen-digital-infra-summit/new-cloud-architectures-private-clouds-and-data-lakes-54227/ , while the live Q&A is available at https://www.telecomtv.com/content/next-gen-digital-infra-summit/next-gen-digital-infra-summit-q-a-day-2-54323/.
Since the recordings are available online, feel free to join Joan and other experts in discussing how telecom networks are gradually becoming not only more software-based, but also on how network data is becoming one of the most important assets and opportunities for telecom network operators, like NTT DOCOMO.
