On October 6th, the 6G Forum 2026 organized by RCR Wireless News was broadcasted on-line, with a rich programme of presentations and panels about expectations for 6G and the ambition for 6G to be truly AI‑native by design.
Dr. Bahador Bakhshi, Senior Architect at DOCOMO Euro-Labs, participated with Stephen Douglas (Head of Strategic Thought Leadership, Keysight Technologies) to the session on “3GPP progress on AI for 6G Core” moderated by Sean Kinney (Principal Analyst, RCRTech).
The session addressed the state-of-the-art of 6G Core architecture standardization at 3GPP, providing an exhaustive overview of the 6G standardization timeline, potential new capabilities in comparison to the 5G legacy, and target use cases. Our colleague Dr. Bakhshi elaborated on the on-going discussion at 3GPP on adoption of AI capabilities in the 6G system architecture, highlighting opportunities and controversial topics.
