3GPP has approved and published a set of stage 2 level specifications for the 5G system architecture
In December 2017, 3GPP has approved and published a set of stage 2 level specifications for the 5G system architecture in Release 15, which have been developed by the System Architecture Working Group (SA2 WG). The specifications describe the overall architecture model and principles, the features and functionalities provided by the 5G system, and the signaling procedures and the Network Function Services that are needed for deploying a commercial 5G system. DOCOMO Euro-Labs actively contributed to this milestone achievement and will keep working on 5G system evolution in Release 16.
