Testing of the O2DMS ETSI NFV profile interface produced by the OpenStack Tacker-based DMS and its integration with StarlingX was showcased.
As part of the O-RAN Alliance Global PlugFest Fall 2023, a periodic interoperability test event hosted by network operators, NTT DOCOMO participated in the event with a demo test scenario integrating OpenStack Tacker with StarlingX. OpenStack Tacker, as a generic VNFM, implements the ETSI GS NFV-SOL 003 LCM and FM APIs, which is in turn used as the baseline for the O2DMS ETSI NFV profile.
Yuya Kuno (a member of NTT DOCOMO R&D on behalf of DOCOMO Euro-Labs) presented the demo on Nov 30th, 2023. The test scenario involved the following main components: the OpenStack Tacker, co-developed by NTT, Fujitsu and NEC; StarlingX, provided by Wind River; and the vRAN application, provided by Fujitsu. The tests covered the following three main parts: firstly, the deployment of the OpenStack Tacker, as DMS, into the O-Cloud; secondly, the deployment of a VNF instance through O2DMS interface produced by Tacker; and thirdly, the fault monitoring of the VNF instance, also via the O2DMS interface.
