On Wednesday 21 June, 2023, a joint workshop between O-RAN Alliance and ETSI ISG NFV took place during the O-RAN Alliance face-to-face meeting in Osaka, Japan.
ETSI NFV and O-RAN Alliance are expected to use their best endeavours, to enhance their collaboration on common matters related to virtualized RAN orchestration and management.
NTT DOCOMO and DOCOMO Euro-labs delegates contributed actively to the workshop, first with the coordination and organization of it, and subsequently by delivering various presentations:
- Yoshihiro Nakajima (ISG NFV Chair, NTT DOCOMO) introduced the ISG and the overall NFV ecosystem;
- Kostas Katsalis (DOCOMO Euro-Labs) presented about the summary of the ETSI GR NFV-IFA 046 report on “NFV support for vRAN”;
- Joan Triay presented about the support for container-based deployments in NFV and the analysis of activities between the two organizations.
